Your Art Doesn't Matter Until it is Printed!

I want to talk to you about your art. The art you create, the art in your home, the art you admire, and the art you share.

The reality is art is not art unless it is a physical product.

Too many of us see beautiful imagery or create our art just for social media feeds.

We view something we love and give it a like and then "poof" it disappears down the feed. Something similar to toilet paper if you don't mind me saying.

Yes it is great to get those likes, but do you really want to spend your time, money, effort just for likes? Have you ever viewed an image on Facebook or Instagram and thought how great it would look in your home only to forget who posted it?

I am sure you do not want to spend your time, money and effort on something as minimal as toilet paper right?

Well, that is what sharing art only on social media only will create.

Yes it is entertaining, and yes we all love to look at the imagery in our feeds, but if you want to create or purchase art, it must be in our physical world. It must be a print, a card, at calendar, a sculpture, a canvas, a vibrant acrylic piece of art hanging on the wall. Anything but just a pixel posted only on the computer.

I recently drove to my local printing lab Reed Art & Imaging here in Colorado. I was so impressed with what they are doing for artists and photographers by helping them to create a wide array of products so art can become physical

Below are some images of their facility and samples of art being born into our world.

I also made some great contacts to meet other local photographers in my area who are creating amazing work. {This will be another blog post about putting yourself out into the world}

So what I am trying to get across is your art or the art you love is nothing more than just a collection of pretty pictures. You need it to be a physical and amazing piece of art that lives in the physical world for everyone to admire.

So please, please, go to your local printer or find a company who is offering great solutions for you to bring your creations into the real world.

So show the world your finished art on social media hanging on a wall, or at an art show, or as a greeting card. I believe this will stop your viewers to really give your creations the time they desire for the effort you put forth in creating a physical piece of art.

Our world needs your art!

p.s. I am going to write and blog more about the art of photography, so I hope you will join me on my journey to creating art that matters and putting into our world.

Please share this blog if you know someone who loves or creates photographic art.
